Diabetes

The UN has targeted non-communicable diseases (NCDs), including diabetes, as a top global health priority. NCDs are the leading cause of deaths worldwide, killing more than 36 million people annually. To mark the UN's decision to hold a high-level meeting on NCDs in September, AJPM has assembled a series of collections of relevant articles on these and related topics.

Our thanks to AJPM editorial board members who compiled this collection: Thomas Kottke, MD, Senior Investigator, Health Partners Research Foundation, Minneapolis, MN; Thomas P. Houston, MD, Clinical professor of Family Medicine and Public Health, The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio; and Stephen H. Taplin, MD, MPH, Chief, Process of Care Research Branch, National Cancer Institute, Bethesda, MD.
